Schleich Pony Agility Training Set ~ Review
Brace yourselves, it’s another toy review over here at Lamb & Bear. In the lead up to Easter, we will be focusing on all Spring time activities and this toy is the epitome of the new season. The kids are always excited to receive anything from mr postman. Honestly pizza offers get them excited, but this package is extra special.
Today we will be talking about a fantastic product from Schleich. This German brand has had the monopoly on realistic animal toys down, and we were all super excited about its range of Farm World, with my daughter taking a liking in particular to the pony and horse training set.
Okay so I have a soft spot for Schleich toys, these toys were what my son was obsessed with. As a young mum with a toddler who could be a bit strong willed, we’d walk on into our local Early Learning Center (RIP ELC) and he would be enchanted with these animals. He’d sit and play with each creature, carefully lining them up and creating little stories and characters. Our collection started then, when I could envision the fun he’d have just so simply.
Since then the toys are still in our belonging, being passed from him to my daughter as well as a staple for child meetups. And guess what, they are still in exactly the same shape as they were brand new. The quality is exceptional, no doubt about that. You get what you pay for, and these toys stand the test of longevity.
So that bring me to our new addition, the Farm World Pony Agility Training set. This new set will be available this month from Smyths. It retails at £24.99 and features everything you need for a startup. Inside we have two ponies, (daughters choice of names currently is Zoey and Mabel, but that will often change). Paddock fences, gate, stable girl and obstacle course items that can be moved and set up in different ways.
These toys never fail, they are perfect! The quality is impeccable. The size is just right for little hands, and the ability to change the scene is what stimulates imaginative play. So far, our ponies have engaged in a practice show, a parade for the other animals in our collection as well as going for a swim with penguins and polar bears. They are endearing and the play delivers different stories each time.
Knowing that the toys are such good quality and timeless, the price, which can be overputting for some does not deter me. It’s a great investment and the perfect start of a collection for your little ones. I’m a hoarder and I can see the next generation still having these bad boys.
Let us know if your kiddos are just as enamoured with this brand and if you are looking forward to it’s new range.

Is A Destination Wedding Right For You?
When it comes to planning a wedding, everyone has their own ideas about what it should look like, and whilst some people may be deals set on following traditions to the book, others are more willing to bend the so-called rules and do things their own way.
From eloping in Vegas, to setting off to the Maldives for a gorgeous beach wedding and everything in between, your wedding should really reflect your personality and your desires as a couple, so it’s important that you don’t get caught up in trying to please everyone, because it’s simply not possible and you’ll not only find that you’re never able to please everyone, but that you’ll also ruin your own day by not doing things the way you want to.
So, if you’re trying to figure out the kind of wedding you want, then in this post we’re going to share with you some of the things to think of when deciding whether or not a destination wedding is right for you.
Do you want a big wedding?
Not everyone actually wants a big wedding – in fact some people actually want to keep it as small and intimate as possible, so there’s really no right or wrong when it comes to this and it’s of course always dependent on your individual circumstances. However, it’s important to realize that your wedding is not only an expense for you, but for those who attend, so if you’re asking them to travel somewhere and take on the expenses of what that involves as well as time off from work and childcare, then it’s something you need to think about first because a lot of people won’t be able to do it and it’s likely going to be the case that if you have a destination wedding, it’s going to be smaller overall.
What style of dress do you have in mind?
For a woman, the dress is a big part of the wedding itself, and whilst you may not be sure what kind of dress you want, or even really be too bothered about it, you could have your heart set on a specific style, and if you’re planning a destination wedding, then the dress is something you’re going to have to think about even more because of the climate or terrain in the place you’re getting married.
The good news is that because destination weddings have become so popular, there are now so many different styles of wedding dresses available to choose from, so it’s easy to find something beautiful that makes you feel special on your wedding day, but it’s definitely one of the things to think about.
Is it important for you to have family there?
Whilst having your immediate family at your wedding is often going to be something that you’ll want to have, if you’re planning a destination wedding, then you’ll need to understand that it may not be that simple. Sometimes it’s money or time constraints, or it could be health – sometimes it’s just that an elderly family member doesn’t want to fly or travel, so when planning a destination wedding, it’s important to consider if you really need to have family there and discuss this with them before making arrangements.

A Few Things To Do When Holidaying In Hertfordshire
Looking at a staycation kind of holiday? Or perhaps a little road trip that will take you to new places without the need to board a plane or remember your passport. Well, in that case, we bring you Hertfordshire.
There are some real hidden gems to visit in this county and we bring you some of the very best in this short guide to tourism in Herts. This home county spans more than 1,600km square and is home to 1.181million people. Major towns include Hemel Hempstead, Stevenage, Watford, St Albans and Hertford.
If you’re planning on a trip down to this part of the world, there’s plenty to see and do, here are some highlights:
Visit Hogwarts
Perhaps the highlight of this trip for any Harry Potter fan is the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. Be transported to the great dining hall at Hogwarts, have a go at mixing up some spells in potions class, drop into Dumbledore’s study and even take a stroll down Diagon Alley. Will your wand be waiting for you?
Have a drink
Visit what is reportedly England’s oldest pub, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, which is believed to have stood in St Albans since 793 AD and is where Oliver Cromwell regularly dined. The pub is conveniently close to St Albans Cathedral where, in 1215 the first draft of the Magna Carta was drawn up.
Afterwards take a stroll around the market city and explore what St Albans has to offer.
Beautiful buildings
If architecture and the Architect in Hertfordshire are more your thing, then check out the eighteenth-century working watermill museum and bakery in St Albans. This beautiful building is still in working order, creating organic stoneground flour from nearby crops, which are baked into handmade loaves in the neighbouring bakery.
Buy a loaf and learn all about the process from gathering crops to flour making and baking.
Marvellous museums
Don’t miss the British Schools Museum, located in Hitchin. This historic building displays classrooms through the history of education and also allows you access to the headmaster’s house. The displays bring history to life, making a great afternoon out for all the family.
Back to nature
Finally, don’t miss out on your chance to get up close to nature at Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne. Meet the Big Cats at this interactive zoo and learn about wildlife as you feed and get to know them. The zoo also includes five adventure playgrounds for younger explorers to let off a little steam.
Why travel abroad when there’s so much to do right here on our doorsteps? Take a trip to the home county of Hertfordshire for your chance to step into a wizarding world, step back in time with a fabulous museum and step out of your comfort zone when you’re face to face with some impressive wild animals.
Whether you spend the day, the weekend or the week, you’ll be glad you decided to turn your staycation into an adventure that memories are made from.

Time Saving Tips For Busy Parents
As a parent you’ll understand just how busy it is navigating day-to-day life. Not only do you need to ensure you’re dressed and on top of your game both in work and out, but you’ll also need to ensure your children are washed, fed, dressed, in school and on top of their game too.
That’s not forgetting all of the out of school activities and running a house too. It can be exhausting, as was proved recently when a mum went viral for mistaking a car seat cover for a skirt and wearing it. It might not be something we’ve all done, but we probably all have our own variation of this story.
Because navigating day-to-day life can be a little bit of a struggle at times, especially when it comes to shopping, we’ve outlined three ways you can change your shopping habits in various forms below, to help you enrich your life and reduce your stress.
Parcel Tracking
Now, we all know that waiting for deliveries can be an absolute nightmare. Making sure we are at home on the day of delivery, and then having to make sure we’re there between the hours of 8am and 8pm. Sometimes this just isn’t doable as we have things to do, which is why you should always opt for a service with parcel tracking. This will allow you to keep an eye on where the parcel is online or on an app, meaning you can go about your business without worrying about missing your delivery.
Online Shopping
This can be applied to all areas of your life, from buying presents for loved ones to doing the weekly food shop – it can help save time and reduce your stress levels instantly. Using this to take on the weekly food shop is highly recommended. Doing this means you won’t have to take the kids out to the supermarket on the weekend or face the crowds. Instead, you can do it late one evening once everyone’s in bed, while wearing your pyjamas, and there’ll be no way of forgetting something or buying something you already have.
Click and Collect
Of course, maybe staying at home waiting for deliveries just isn’t possible for you either, but when it comes to doing that online shop there are other options. Click and collect is the most obvious of these, meaning you can order something online and then pick it up on your lunch break from the shop, or collect it while running other errands. The joy of click and collect also means you’ll usually get your item quicker, as it’ll be in-store, meaning you won’t have to wait for someone to drop it off at your home – because who knows how long you could be waiting for delivery, and next day delivery isn’t always cheap.
