With Christmas fast approaching I’ve been thinking about saving and have come up with these money saving tips ideal for families.
Our personal finances haven’t been great for a few years now. After both my husband and I were made redundant within 10 months of each other, our household income dropped drastically. I became a stay at home mum and my husband started an apprenticeship as an Electrician. Fingers crossed he will be finished by December and can start earning a little more.
As you all know, we’ve battled with a ‘fussy eater’ for the majority of parenthood. Lambs eating issues became apparent when he was around 10 months old. He simply refused food unless it was crackers, breadsticks, toast or crisps. With the exception of some fruit and yoghurt.
Dealing with a fussy eater, in my opinion, is one of the most difficult things a parent can experience. Whether they are fussy due to health issues, or teething, or they have an eating disorder. Or maybe they’ve just decided they hate all food. Whatever the reason, watching your child go for days, or even weeks, without a proper meal is heartbreaking, and to be honest, bloody exhausting.

These kinds of posts can be so funny as you never know what they are going to answer. Of course I’d love to include Bear, but as he can only say “ta”, “dada”, “Peppa” and “banana”, so it wouldn’t be much of an interview!
I’ve never been able to get Lamb to take part in stuff like this as he simply can’t be bothered to answer the questions. He rolls his eyes like I’m asking him to take on a mammoth task. I swear that kid is 4 going on 14.
Anyway, I gave it a go and as you can see he’s still not one with his words…
Parents always find themselves faced with piles and piles of clothes that our kids grow out of all too quickly. If you’ve been to my house you’ll know I’ve got bags and boxes of old clothes everywhere.
Often it only takes a few months to pass before another wave has been grown out of and the need to replace them arises yet again! And don’t forget our unpredictable weather we’re having. Who’d have thought we’d need wellies in August! The summer wardrobe has hardly been used this month!
I really need to tackle the unwanted stuff we’ve got. I’ve already donated a few black sacks of clothes to Barnardos, but ideally I’d like to sell a few bits on so I can save for the next batch of clothes I’ll need to buy.

I’ve been a work from home mum for almost 2 years now and it’s just as hectic as it was when I was first made redundant! You’d think by now I’d have some sort of routine. But then I wasn’t expecting my second child to be as crazy as he is. All hands on deck with Bear.
I still feel strange calling my self a ‘work from home mum’ because I don’t have an office area where I sit and work. I don’t have a regular income and I don’t wear a uniform. My uniform is usually my pyjamas!
But I do work and I’m self-employed. So I need to stop being so modest and be proud of what I’m doing. Even if I can’t afford to buy myself any new clothes…
