A family cruise is something we’ve talked about a lot recently. Cruises are a popular choice with families. They provide the flexibility to explore multiple locations without having to keep your kids entertained on multiple flights. Instead, you can board, unpack and enjoy.
Filled with fun excursions, entertainment and kids’ clubs, they certainly have their appeal. But if you’ve never planned a family cruise before, there are a few things to look out for.
You may dream of exploring beautiful villages, stopping off at ancient ruins, or visiting wineries, but your kids won’t so it’s important to strike a balance. After all, everyone should have fun on a family cruise and no one wants their kids complaining they’re bored! For the perfect family cruise, choose a destination that offers something for everyone, including beaches, rich history and fun family activities.
Popular family cruise destinations include Spain and the Canary Islands, Italy and the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean.
When planning any family holiday, budget is always important. However, when deciding how much you can afford for your holiday, remember that there’s many factors that will affect what cruise you can select. This includes time of travel (depending on the age of your children, you may have to travel during expensive school holidays), the length of the cruise (the longer it is, the more it’ll cost!) and how far you need to travel to reach your cruise liner.
Although your ship will have bars, restaurants, shops and activities, you’ll spend a lot of time in your cabin. So, it’s important to make the right choice when you book, so you’re not stuck with a cabin that’s unsuitable for your family.
When browsing, make sure you think about cabin size and bed requirements. Also think about location, too. A cabin that’s too small, has no window or outside access (such as a balcony) could start to feel cramped. Make sure to pick the right beds, cabin size, etc. Location, too. A cabin without a window can start to feel claustrophobic in a family cabin. If you have young children, you’ll probably return to your cabin earlier, so this is even more crucial.
Every cruise is different, so it’s important to do your research. When looking at each cruise, consider: the types of entertainment on offer (are they things your family likes?), dining options (do you need more flexibility or will set dining times work?), and the itinerary (are there activities and excursions suitable for your children?)
Lastly, when going on a family cruise, think carefully about what you’ll need to pack. This could include toys, medicines, chargers, sanitiser and wipes, washing powder (there’s bound to be spills with kids!), and drinks cartons for excursions.
A cruise can be an amazing experience, so consider these points to plan the perfect Bolsover Cruise for your family.

It’s just over a week until Mother’s Day so I’ve put together a little gift guide to help anyone out there who’s stuck for ideas (that includes you Hubby!)
Munchkin has been a brand I’ve used since Lamb was a newborn. Even before I started this blog just over 4 years ago, I knew of the brand and already had a selection of products. There’s a couple of products in particular we’ve used for years and continue to do so. Products that I bought for Lamb and loved so much we bought for Bear too.
Firstly is the well-loved Miracle 360 cup. Lamb has always used the 10oz miracle cup, so when we started weaning Bear we bought him the 7oz trainer cup. Even now they both still use them at the ages of almost 5 and 21 months. They’re just so good for avoiding spills, especially on car journeys when Bear throws his on the floor when he’s done!
We are also huge fans of their bath products. In particular the bath mat with multicoloured spots. It’s easy to clean and sticks really well.
I’ve been lucky to be able to try more and more of their products as my blog has grown. And today I’m sharing a brand new selection of items due to be on sale mid March.

My little Bear Cub isn’t interested in sitting and playing quietly with toys like his brother does. He’s much more interested in climbing and causing havoc!
When we were offered a Casdon Mr Kipling Cake Stand and Tea Set I thought this could be the perfect toy to get Bear to sit and play with his brother.
