Weekend Baby Style #4
Is it me or do you feel like you’re writing these Weekend Baby Style posts all the time? I just don’t know where the weeks go!! Oh well, I’m not complaining. I love sharing Lambs outfits with you.
This week is quite different to the previous posts. He’s in all black! But printed black, so it’s not so bad (I love him in colour).
Lamb’s skeleton tee is from H&M and originally belonged to his cousin Indy. My brother and sister in law have fab taste in children’s clothes so I know I’m in for a treat when they send me things for Lamb.
His zebra joggers (one of my fave things in his wardrobe) are also form H&M and are actually size 12-18 months!! Lamb is 2 in a few weeks so i’m shocked he’s still in them. I often find H&M clothes come up quite big, but I don’t mins a sit means we get a lot of use out of them. He’s even still wearing a 9-12 mont sleep suit from there! I’ve got a feeling it was labelled up wrong…
Lamb’s cardigan is from Zara and he got this for Christmas from his Grandma. This is 18-24 months and feels quite snug so I don’t think it will fit him much longer.
Finally his trainers are from Next. I love these so much I bought him a pair in a size up so he gets to wear them again next year. He’s currently wearing a toddler size 5 (5G to be specific) and doesn’t seem to be growing as quickly as he did between the last sizes.
I hope you liked this week’s weekend baby style post. Look out for another outfit post this weekend showing you what we are both wearing to The Baby Show tomorrow!

Home, sweet, home: Our new bed
When you marry the man you have been with for over 8 years, have bought a house with, had a child with, it becomes rather difficult to write a gift list when you finally tie the knot. So we didn’t ask for anything. We have everything we need (kind of) and don’t have the space for anything else. We also didn’t go on a honeymoon, so ruled out a honeymoon fund. That left us with asking for nothing. Neither of us felt comfortable asking for money, unless it was to go towards something in particular. It just didn’t feel fair.
We got the odd text from friends and family asking if we wanted money and we would always respond with some thing like “we don’t need any more items for our house, so if you would like to give us a gift then money or vouchers to put towards something in the future would be greatly appreciated”.
We were very lucky to receive a mixture of gifts and money from our guests and are extremely overwhelmed by everyones generosity. (I’m still writing thank you cards so if you haven’t received yours it’s coming soon I promise! Not easy to do with a part time job, blog and toddler to look after!)
Something I have wanted and needed to buy for a long time that was out of our budget is a new bed and mattress. Daddy Lamb had fixed our bed numerous times and it was getting pretty uncomfortable, but we finally had the funds to buy ourselves our dream bed!
Living in a 2 bed semi means we lack storage and space. We are very lucky to have a cellar which I have turned into my utility room (there are no longer piles of ironing around my house), I don’t know how I would cope without this space. The rest of my house is jam packed. I’m a teeny tiny hoarder. Only teeny tiny though!
With this in mind we knew we wanted to buy a storage bed. Drawers or ottoman? For us it had to be an ottoman. To utilise the space in our bedroom we have to push the bed up into one corners, so if we had drawers underneath 2 of them wouldn’t be used. So ottoman to was.
The bed we bought is from Homebase. We bought a mattress from there too as you get a 15% discount off the mattress if you buy both together. We also got another 20% off the total bill as they had an offer on furniture. It actually worked out that we paid for the mattress in full and got the ned for free – not bad!
So we chose our new bed and mattress, so it was only right that I got new bedding to go with it! I don’t normally like to spend a lot of things like duvet covers, but we were also lucky to receive some next vouchers for wedding gifts. We decided to spend these on things for our new bed. Here is what we got…
I absolutely love my new bedding. They cost a lot more than I would normally pay (I think £55 each) but you can really see the difference in quality. I can see myself getting slightly addicted.
I won’t show you a photo of my actual bed yet because our bedroom needs redecorating. There’s nothing special about it, and now we have our new bed I want to redecorate the whole room! So I think I’ll share some photos once I’ve made it look all pretty. 🙂
I’d love some recommendations on places to buy amazing bedroom furniture and accessories (nothing too pricey!) so let me know if you have any!

My Hen Party Weekend
Ok, so I’m finally writing about my hen party. It was so much fun albeit a little cringe, but I loved it and have some fab photos to share. Red7 had a recent competition looking for the funniest hen party photos, and there were some hilarious entries, you can see them here.
My hen party was organised by two of my bridesmaids, Vicky and Justine. My third bridesmaid, Alice, was living in Australia at the time so could only help over email etc.
I knew absolutely nothing about the plans; destination, activities, where we were staying, nothing. That was until a friend slipped up about the destination. Oops.
No big deal, I love Brighton!
Fast forward to arriving in Brighton. A huge 3 storey town house. Girls you did good!
Friday
Friday night consisted of pizza eating, wine drinking, game playing, and more. Lots of girl chat, and chilling in face packs. Nothing too crazy. Oh, apart from the piñata. I won’t say what shape it was, I’ll let the photos do the talking!
Saturday
After a yummy breakfast of croissants and crumpets (very sophisticated 😉 ) I was sent out for the morning with the girls. Vicky and Justine stayed behind… hmmmm suspicious.
We did a bit of shopping and stopped for a coffee until we were allowed to return to the house.
OMG.
The girls had covered the house in Las Vegas themed decorations. Their reason? I wanted to get married in Vegas, but decided it wasn’t fair on our families to miss out. We then decided we would go on a honeymoon to Vegas, but with Daddy Lamb being made redundant we knew this wouldn’t happen. So my girls brought Vegas to me! I can’t believe how perfect this was.
As well as the Vegas decorations, the girls also made bunting out of photos of me with my friends and hubby to be. They were everywhere. Amazing. And also embarrassing. There were some old photos.
The girls had prepared the most amazing lunch, my fave, lasagne. Or so I thought. Turns out, while we were off shopping and drinking skinny cappuccinos, a hired chef came to the house to prepare lunch. Yes, a chef! How special is that?!
After lunch the hen party games began, starting with Mr & Mrs questions. It was hilarious. Vicky had managed to film Joe answering his questions so we all got to watch him on video giving us some rather embarrassing and hilarious answers! Unfortunately he didn’t take the game too seriously, and made a lot of the answers up (which I won’t repeat). The rules were simple. If I didn’t guess what he was going to answer, I had to do a shot. Lets just say the little plastic shot glasses were piling up in front of me!
Next up was toilet paper bride. 3 bridesmaids, 3 teams, 1 judge. I highly recommend this game if you’re organising a hen party, so much fun. It seems I have rather competitive friends who took the designing and manufacturing of these dresses rather seriously. I suppose as the judge is a fashion designer they wanted to dress to impress!
Now it was time to glam up. I had no idea what we were doing in the evening, all I knew was to bring a sequin outfit! So I found myself the most amazing multicoloured sequin skirt and top from H&M. I was lucky to get it as it sold out pretty quickly.
How amazing did my girls look…
So it’s time to find out the evening plans…
The Adonis Cabaret Show! Whoop whoop!! 😉
I was so excited, i’ve seen the Dreamboys show in London and it was such a good night out for a hen party. My girls know me well and knew I’d enjoy some hunky men dancing around in pants!
However, I was physically shaking with nerves. I was the hen. Therefore I was the prime target for the hunks to pull someone on stage. And guess what happened… I’ll show you…
Yes. My hen challenge was to give a 21 year old trainee stripper a lap dance. The rules: you must straddle. Unfortunately I had a very tight pencil skirt on and really struggled to straddle him! It was so cringe. But looking at these photos I think I pulled it off! 😉
We gave ourselves a no shot rule before going out. A few of us can’t handle shots very well (not naming any names… Lucy 😉 ) This didn’t last long…
Justine and Vicky really put so much thought into every last detail and if I’m honest I was a little overwhelmed. I’m not used to this sort of attention. I’ve never really had birthday parties etc, so having a group of girls put so much effort into something dedicated to me is hard to get your head around. I love these girls so much and am so grateful for my perfect hen weekend.

Wedding Series: Table Decorations
Designing your wedding table decorations can be super stressful. I was jumping between ideas and couldn’t make a decision. I’m so indecisive. I automatically assumed I would go with a winter wedding theme, well I was getting married in December.
Everything changed when I found my dress. (You can read my post about choosing my dress here.) As soon as I looked at myself in the mirror I said “I feel like I’m going to the oscars”. There was my light bulb moment. My theme would be hollywood glam. A bit of the oscars and a hint of the 1920s. I was beyond excited.
After tweeting about my wedding ideas I was approached by the lovely Sophie at Magpie Linens. Magpie Linens supply tablecloths and linens for weddings and events. I had a look at what they had and was blown away by their gorgeous sequin covers. These would be perfect for my wedding theme!
I am so grateful to Sophie for allowing me to review her sequin tablecloths and runners, I can’t stress enough how amazing they made my tables look. It just wouldn’t have been the same without them. I highly recommend looking at what Magpie Linens offer if you’re planning your wedding. I think my photos tell it all. Effortless luxury.
How amazing do the tablecloths look!!
