Time for another Christmas gift guide! Today’s guide is for toys suitable for around 2-3 years. So toys that will be suitable for Bear in about 6 months time. But to be honest he would play with them now.
Fertility Might Be Easy For Me and You, But It’s Not For Others
Falling pregnant came very easy to us. I fell pregnant with Lamb in the third month of trying, and Bear, well Bear was first try. But not everyone has an easy ride with fertility.
To someone who hasn’t experienced fertility issues, or maybe someone who isn’t a parent, ‘having a baby’ might not seem like such a complex matter. But it is.
A really complex matter to a hell of a lot of people.
Quirky Christmas Gifts From Uncommon Goods
Are you looking for something a little different to what you normally find in the shops? Maybe just a little inspiration? Or maybe you’ve got a family member you just can’t find something for. There’s always one, right?

Where Do I Belong?
Designing My Dream Home Office
I’ve been discussing with my other half what options I have for creating a home office. It’s got to the point where I NEED a desk and office space. The sofa just isn’t cutting it anymore. I’ve got a bad back and sore neck, and it’s only going to get worse if I keep working in uncomfortable places.
(Standing up in the kitchen while Bear screams at my feet or on the sofa while he tries to press the off button on my laptop).
I recently wrote about our dream extension, and ideally I’d build an office if we extend the house. But until then, it’s down to finding a space that I can turn into a home office.
The obvious choice would be our cellar, where I currently pack all of my orders for my online shop. But it’s a cellar, and although it’s renovated, it’s still a bit cold and dark down there. Plus it’s also my utility room so is always full of ironing.
The next option would be to create a desk area in our dining room/playroom. But I want a space where I can hide away from the kids, and in all honesty, not be reminded of them with the MASS of toys they own! I’d love somewhere a little more tranquil that is all mine.
That’s when I came up with the idea of creating the space in my bedroom. We don’t have a huge room but I could certainly squeeze a little desk like this one from Ikea into a corner. Then, with a few shelves and accessories, I could create a lovely little space to write and work, where I’m not distracted.
Now as this is my dream home office, I can choose whatever I want to go in it. Which includes this £150 office chair from Ikea. Obviously I wouldn’t actually spend that much on a chair, but as this is my dream…
We desperately need a new blind in our bedroom. And if I’m going to be working in there I want one that hides the sunlight, but doesn’t make the room crazy dark. Roof Windows have this great article on how to choose the right blind. To be honest, I think I’d go for a classic roller blind in a nice colour to compliment our pale walls.
We don’t have any plants in our house, mainly because I’m so bad at keeping them alive. So I’ve bought myself a couple of stylish succulents to pop onto shelves (when I eventually create my home office!)
Staying organised is one of my biggest flaws. I’m NEVER organised. I have a to-do list as long as my arm and I’m the worst for stopping one job half way through and starting another.
My hope is that once I have my home office space I can keep on top of tasks and get into the flow of working a little faster. At the moment life is simply too distracting.

Lately I’ve been feeling a little lost. Lost with where I ‘belong’.
