Baby Boy Occasionwear Wish List

Later this summer hubby and I will be attending one of his best friends wedding. At this stage children aren’t invited, however as baby number 2 is due mid may (so could potentially arrive at the end of May) he will only be around 3 months at the time of the wedding. If I am lucky enough to breastfeed this time I may not want to leave baby with Grandma. I may fall into the most beautiful breastfeeding routine and not find the need to express or top up with formula. You just can’t predict what will happen.

So with that in mind I’ve been looking at baby boy occasionwear online. The wedding is in August so the weather should be nice and warm, so baby won’t need too many layers. There’s not a huge choice out there but I’ve found some cute outfits I though I’d share with you.

From a Mother to Another

A campaign I’m more than happy to promote is ‘From a Mother to Another‘ with JoJo Maman Bebe. mother to anotherIf you haven’t heard of this campaign before then here’s a little bit about it…

JoJo Maman Bebe are helping vulnerable families in the UK via the Trussell Trust’s food banks, and Syrian refugees living in Lebanon. Their aim is to get thousands of Mums and Dads involved in donating outgrown and unwanted children’s clothes; so your assistance is extremely valuable to the cause. They are collecting during the lead-up to Mother’s day from 2nd February to 5th March 2016.

As a thank you JoJo are offering a £5 gift voucher when two or more unwanted or outgrown good quality outfits are donated to store. (One voucher per customer. Valid with a £35 minimum spend).

HOW TO HELP:

  • Make up 2 or more complete outfits from your child’s little worn, nearly new or outgrown clothes in sizes 0-6 years.
  • Launder and check that the clothes make a perfect outfit you would be proud to dress your own child in.
  • Place in a clear plastic bag and label with size/sex/season. E.g. 0-3mths/unisex/summer.
  • Deliver to a JoJo store between 2nd February and 5th March 2016.

WHAT WILL JOJO DO NEXT:

  • They double check all donations and where necessary will add extra items. They will then pack into gorgeous gift bags to deliver to their partner charities for distribution.
  • They cover the cost for sorting staff and all delivery costs to their charity partners.
  • They cover all the shipping costs, import tax and onward distribution to the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

What do you normally do with unwanted children’s clothes? Personally I’ve sold some, given to friends with boys younger than Lamb, donated to my local charity shop and thrown some away (grubby or damaged only).

With baby boy number 2 on the way we want to reuse a lot of Lambs clothes, however we also want to buy him new clothes. He deserves new stuff too. I’m sure if I dig deep in the bags of old clothes I can find 2 or 3 lovely outfits to donate, and I’m sure you could do the same?

The £5 voucher I’ll get from JoJo Maman Bebe for donating the clothes can be used to buy baby boy something new. I’ll definitely be saving it for when they have their next sale though… I love a bargain!

If you’ve got half an hour to spare this weekend have a rummage through your kids unwanted clothes and donate in your local Jojo Maman Bebe. 🙂

If I was Having a Girl What Would She Wear?

I’m pregnant with my second boy which means no frills, no flowers, no fairies – well unless he chooses to wear them of course.

I can’t help but browse the baby girl section in stores or online and wonder what I might dress my own baby girl in. (Don’t worry, I’m super excited I’m having another boy!) I love fashion and just because I’m going to have 2 sons doesn’t mean I can’t lust after the girly stuff. I’ve got 2 beautiful nieces to buy for anyway!

I’ve picked a selection of my favourite finds from Zara, Next and Gap.

zaracollageThere’s a few bits here that I’d actually buy for baby boy! For example, the pear baby grow and leggings from Gap are adorable and would look so cute on a newborn no matter what gender they are. I’d also put a boy in the bumble bee leggings from Next. The same goes for the 2 pairs of leggings from Zara. Boys like cats and ladybirds too!

Lamb & Bear Unisex Leggings – How To Wear Them

It’s been just over a month since I launched my children’s clothing line and I’m loving all of the photos my customers are sharing on social media. You guys know how to style your kids!

I often see comments saying “are these unisex?”, “they are too girly”, “can girls wear these?”, so I wanted to share this post with you on different ways you can style my leggings, for both girls, boys and in unisex outfits.

One thing I wanted to do when creating my own range was to make sure it was as unisex as possible. I know some prints will suit a boy more, and leggings might only sell to mums with girls etc, but with a little guidance from me, you might see how my leggings can suit both genders.

Take a look at the outfits I’ve put together, you never know, it might open your eyes to how you can style your own pair of Lamb & Bear leggings on your little ones. I’ve tried to include a mix of girls, boys and unisex top to show you how versatile my prints can be.

I hope you’ve found this post useful. Personally I love the Grey Duck selection (especially the milk tee!), and I also love the batman top, which would go with the grey penguins as well as the red penguins.

Maternity Occasionwear

Next month we will be heading to Cheltenham to attend the wedding of 2 of our good friends. Of course I’m pregnant so I’m on the hunt for a fabulous dress to cover my growing bump. Unfortunately I’m pear shaped so I’m limited to what shapes I can wear. Nothing too fitted, nothing pleated, that kind of stuff. ASOS is my go to place for maternity wear so I’ve narrowed down a few lovely dresses so you guys can help me to choose one! I don’t want to spend much as I’ll only be wearing it once, maybe twice, but luckily ASOS have a fab sale on at the moment. All of these dresses are in the sale.

I’ve got some amazing lime yellow t-bar shoes that will look fab with monochrome. I actually need 2 dresses as the party is on a separate night (not great for my bank balance), so I may buy 2 of these!
