Lambs Next Toddler Boy Wishlist

next toddler wishlist pinI know you guys love a shopping haul or wishlist. I always get such a good response on social media when I publish these, so I’ve done another for you! This time I’ve been looking at bits for Lambs spring/summer wardrobe and going into Autumn. He’s in age 3-4 now so his clothes last such a long time I can grab bits that are suitable for the cooler months later in the year.

As usual I’ve been drawn to monochrome items. I will look for colour for him for the summer, but I’m not keen on what Next have in at the moment. What I’ve picked out, in my opinion, is their best stuff online.

H&M Baby Boy Wish List

hm baby boy wish list pinOk I’ve been at it again. Window shopping online for baby boy. H&M’s baby boy range is so good at the moment and they just keep adding amazing stuff which results in me being able to create wish lists fairly often! I just wish I had the money to buy all of it!

I’ve got a thing for monochrome and so far baby boy’s wardrobe has a lot of black and white and very little baby blue. I’m just not feeling pale blues for him at all.

I’ll go straight into the wish list and leave the details of each item below. A lot of these I would also buy for a girl and team with a bit of pink, so take a look of you have a daughter or are looking to buy for girls.

Maternity Fashion For Your Hospital Bag

maternity hospital clothes pinIt’s time to stop pretending and living in the clouds, I’m in the third trimester and this baby will be here in a matter of weeks. Less than 90 days. It’s just crazy.

I’m not in any hurry to pack my bag yet, although with the way this boy wriggles in my belly and pushes down on my bladder I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes a bit early.

I’m yet to choose my changing bag. I’ve got my eye on a few and you can take a look at my luxury changing bag wish list if you want some inspiration. However, I have been thinking about the clothes I’ll be taking for myself.

When Lamb was born I ended up staying in hospital 2 nights and 3 days. This was initially due to the fact I couldn’t pee and at 4am they found a bed on the ward, then we realised Lamb couldn’t latch and they kept me in to help me with breastfeeding (something I really wasn’t expecting, but extremely grateful for, even though it didn’t work).

For this reason I want to be fully prepared that I may stay in hospital for a few days. I’ll need pyjamas or a nightie, comfy clothes for after the birth, and clothes to wear home.

The clothes I had when I was in hospital with Lamb were totally for comfort only, not style, but this time round I want to look good too! I literally wore jogging bottoms, a baggy t-shirt and oversized cardigan home that was a bit mix-match. Nothing wrong with that, I had just had a baby, but now I’m giving myself the time to plan my maternity and nursing clothing and hope to have some nice clothes to wear home.

I’ve had a look online and picked out some lovely maternity or nursing clothes that would be perfect for my hospital bag and for after the baby is born. I’m sure I’ll be living in comfy clothes for a few weeks post labour!

I hope you like my choices, as you can see I have a couple of things on this list already but included them because I highly recommend them! I love the idea of having a nursing robe which would be ideal for early morning and evening feeds. It would also mean I could keep pretty well covered up in the hospital. The striped t-shirt dress form ASOS is exactly my cup of tee, in fact I have this shape already but not maternity and in plain black and khaki green, and can see myself getting a lot of use out of it. This would also be ideal for giving birth in as it’s long enough to cover me up until I’m ready to push!

Bonprix Maternity Style Challenge

bonprix maternity style challenge pinI was recently challenged to create a maternity outfit with Bonpix. I was definitely up for the challenge, especially as I spend most of my days sitting in my pjs!

I do struggle with staying stylish during pregnancy. I have a very pear shaped figure so struggle to keep the weight off as my bump grows, which then has an affect on my confidence with dressing up.

This weekend I attended my friends wedding which was across 2 days, which meant 2 new maternity outfits. Boy was this difficult! I just looked horrible in everything I tried, but after trying on a million maternity dresses I finally found 2 that I was happy with (although I still think I looked like a whale 😉 )

Taking part in this challenge is certainly out of my comfort zone. Although I’ve worked in fashion for many years and have a love for styling (other people) I’m far from confident with dressing up and styling myself and have been known to have mild panic attacks before a night out with the girls! Crazy, I know.

I decided to go for an outfit that was both comfortable, but dressy. Something I could wear out to dinner with some fab accessories, but also something I could pop to the shops in.

The items I chose were a maternity v-neck tunic (long enough to cover my big bum) in maple red and maternity skinny jeans in dark denim.

I absolutely love my choices and feel confident wearing them, however I struggled with the sizing of the jeans. I ordered a size 14 as this is what I’m wearing (with room to grow) from other brands so knew they would be ok. Unfortunately when they arrived I couldn’t get them past my knees so had to swap for a size 16 (sad face), but I’m used to things like this happening with my huge hips and bum. When the new size arrived I managed to get them on, but I don’t have much room to grow, or should I say I can’t put any more weight on! So if you’re thinking of buying jeans from Bonprix, then make sure you go up a size, and order a couple to try on. There’s not a lot of stretch to pull up around your pregnant body. Having said that, once they are on they look great and are quite comfy. I also love the belly band part. These are the only maternity jeans that have an adjustable waist band meaning you can tighten the band to stay up around your bump. Really useful feature if you have a small waist like me.

The tunic top is really lovely. It’s so comfortable and super flattering. The colour is perfect for this time of year. We are still in winter shades but the red adds a bit of colour to my wardrobe as we approach spring. There is elastic under the bust which creates a lovely shape above your bump.

I teamed my outfit with my shaggy gilet which I bought from Matalan years ago. I find these really finish off a simple outfit and add a bit of texture. I also added my nude pink jersey scarf which I picked up for £3 in Primark – bargain!

My boots are from Dune and were form my hubby for Christmas. These are probably the comfiest boots I’ve ever owned and so cosy! They are fleeced all the way through to the toes – lush!

I’m so happy with my Bonprix choices and would definitely recommend you check out Bonprix’s maternity range. Like I said, be careful with the jeans sizing, but the top is perfect for me (it’s a size 10-12).

Luxury Changing Bag Wish List

changing bag pinI’ve decided with baby number 2 I’d like a changing bag that is more ‘mummy’ than ‘baby’. Something stylish and luxurious; something that looks more like a handbag. With Lamb I used a Pink Lining Yummy Mummy bag, which I still have and love, but I definitely fancy something a little less ‘baby bag’.

After asking some of my lovely mummy bloggers friends they all suggested some amazing brands for me to take a look at and I’ve picked out some gorgeous bags I’d love to use when baby number 2 arrives.


1. Oh. My. God. This changing bag is unbelievable. The PacaPod Firenze is ultimate luxury when it comes to changing bags and I would love, love, love this. With a price tag of £265, unfortunately I think this one will stay in my dreams. There are, of course, cheaper Pacapod changing bags which I will look closer at, but I just had to include the Firenze. Simply stunning.

 

 

2. The brand BabyBeau got a lot of votes with other parenting bloggers and after a bit of research I found this gorgeous faux leather BabyBeau Joel changing bag. What I love about this is it really doesn’t look like a changing bag and I know I could get so much use out of it even once baby boy has grown up and I don’t need a changing bag anymore. With a price tag of £79.95 this is much more affordable for me than the Pacapod.

3. This gorgeous pewter is by a brand called timi & leslie and the bag is called Charlie. I stumbled across this bag on Amazon and I have fallen in love with it. This is definitely a contender for baby boy number 2’s changing bag! There’s a few other colours available but this pewter one has £100 off in the sale. So it’s a bargain too!

4. I really like this Skip Hop Chelsea changing bag. I’ve seen kids products by Skip Hop before but didn’t realise they did such lovely changing bags! I love the little pockets around the outer of the bag which means you can easily access things like wipes, dummies or teethers. Looking at other pictures online it looks like it can attach to a buggy really well without hanging down too much.

5. Finally I can’t have a list of luxury ‘mummy’ changing bags without including a gorgeous Nova Harley changing bag. I’ve found this one for £118.99, which is a little out of my budget, but the whole point of this list is to find a bag that with longevity and I can use long after the ‘changing bag’ days. I would definitely continue to use this as a handbag after it’s needed as a changing bag.
