Yesterday my phone beeped and I had a text from Next telling me it was time to pay my account. So off I went to make a payment, and of course I had a look at their new arrivals…
And added some new bits to my account. Dammit.
I’m always writing clothing wish lists for the boys, I’m just obsessed with dressing them up! I loved the bits I chose on this post.
Anyway, just look how amazing their boys stuff is at the mo. They are so on point right now.
I thought it was about time I updated you all on our journey as a baby swimologist!
Bear is 10 months old and has just finished his second term of swimming lessons. He’s an absolute water baby and is kicking before we’re even in the pool!
Swimming lessons isn’t something we did with Lamb until I was pregnant with his brother, and I really regret that. With that in mind, he’s actually really great in the water, but we take him at least twice a month to build up his confidence. We’re so close to taking the armbands off!
I really wanted to take Bear Swimming from a young age so I could get him used to the water. I also wanted to learn techniques for teaching him to swim myself. Not forgetting building both of our confidence at swimming together (swimming with a slippery baby isn’t easy!)
During the lessons we were taught different ways to hold a baby in the water, including the safety hold (which I’ve now taught Daddy for when we go as a family).
We were also taught lots of different submersions which luckily Grandma managed to film!
Each week Bear’s confidence has grown. He doesn’t cry or whinge. Happily takes part in all of the tasks and doesn’t mind being covered in water.
His favourite thing to do in the water is swim. Literally. It’s so funny to watch. I hold him on his front and off he goes! He slashes his arms and legs and in all honesty, it actually feels like he’s swimming rather than me moving him!
He doesn’t mind being under the water which is one of the main reasons I wanted to take him for swimming lessons. A child that won’t let you wet their hair is pretty frustrating (especially at bathtime), so my goal is to make sure Bear is always comfortable in water.
I really enjoy using the woggles with Bear. Over the past couple of months I’ve grown confident to let him go whilst he’s balanced and supported by them. They are such a useful swim aid to use with kids. If you’re feeling a little tired from holding your little one, you simply wrap it around the the baby or both of you and use it to take the weight of your baby.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Konfidence for choosing us as baby swimologists and working closely with us. Taking Bear swimming has been so lovely and I’ve really enjoyed the quality time alone with him.

Blaze and The Monster Machines has been a favourite in our house for a while now. Lamb has a couple of the blaze trucks, one which is an aeroplane and one which is a firetruck. He doesn’t know yet but I’ve bought him one which is for the bath. (Anyone else have a pre-schooler OBSESSED with putting every toy in the bath?)
Fisherprice kindly sent us the Blaze Light & Launch Hyper Loop to review, and even though it’s Lambs birthday in a couple of weeks, I knew how much he’d love to review this toy, so couldn’t say no.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t going to enter the #MarkWarnerMum competition. I knew the quality of posts would be off the scale, and recently my anxiety has put blogging on the back burner. Not only that, but I’m a Virgo, a creative Virgo, which means my creative freedom fights my need for perfection on a daily basis. This isn’t good for my mood. A lot of projects are usually left unfinished. Hence why I didn’t want to put the pressure on myself to enter this competition.
Having said that, this weekend we took a drive to Yorkshire to visit my family. My husband took a couple of days off work and we spent a few days relaxing and spending quality time as a family. We got home last night and something changed. I decided going for this opportunity of a lifetime; allowing my children to go on a holiday we could never provide, was worth the stress and rush of putting together my entry in 24 hours. Because the deadline is tonight.
So here you go, my top 10 holiday essentials with a twist. 5 are my holiday essentials and 5 and everyone else’s. And just for fun, I let me creative freedom take over and design a couple of Mark Warner souvenirs!
