Little Lambs #NextmasWishlist
This is probably one of the easiest posts I’ve done to date. Picking my favourite pieces from Next for Little Lambs #NextmasWishlist – easy! There are so many lovely christmassy bits to choose from, however narrowing it down wasn’t so easy!
I love Next children’s clothing. The quality is amazing. I particularly like their jeans, T-shirts and sleepsuits. I always go back for these particular items. Their coats are also fab.
I decided to pick Lamb his very own festive outfit and put together a collage of exactly how he might look wearing it. I have to be honest, I’ve searched for the T-shirt and trousers, but unfortunately both are currently out of stock (sad face). I’m secretly hoping a christmas elf sneaks them under the tree for Lamb…
Here is what I chose for Lamb…
- Star Beanie
- Snowman T-shirt
- Check Trousers
- Mittens
- Reindeer Booties
So above is Lambs #NextmasWishlist. But what’s on mine? I’ve decided to choose myself some snuggly nightwear to go on my #NextmasWishlist and here is what I want to find in my stocking this year…
Have you got a #NextmasWishlist? I’d love to see what bits you chose.

Wedding Series: Looking after your skin
If you are a regular reader of the blog, you will know my wedding is next month (eek!) All I keep thinking about is my skin. My wrinkles, my blemishes, my dry patches. Us girls are never happy are we?!
I have been looking into ways of improving my skin before the big day. I desperately want to clear my spots up on my chin (this is where I get them the most). I go through phases of having super clear skin, then boom, I’m covered in spots again. Ugh.
No matter how much make up I wear, I can still see the lumps and bumps and know they are there. It won’t be the end of the world if my skin doesn’t clear up before the wedding, but I will to do what I can to improve my skin as soon as possible.
As you can see, even with heavy make up my spots are still visible. I wouldn’t say my skin is scarred from my blemishes, but it’s definitely not as clear as it used to be! I would love to wake up on my wedding day feeling happy with the way I look.
There are plenty of treatments out there to improve skin conditions like spots or scarring from acne. I’ve never tried a skin peel, but I’ve heard good things about them, although I’ve also heard they can be quite painful.
Next week I am off to a spa with my maid of honour for some well need tlc. I’m definitely going to get a facial and see what this does for my skin.
Do you have any tips or advice for problem skin? Have you ever has a skin peel to improve blemishes or acne? I have 5 weeks until my wedding to improve my spots! Wish me luck!

Watching my weight
I’ve never allowed scales in my house. I have a love/hate relationship with them. When I was attending Weight Watchers there was no need for them, I was weighing myself once a week at the meeting. When I stopped going to Weight Watchers I didn’t want scales in case I started putting weight back on and that would just upset me. What you don’t know doesn’t hurt you, right?
It’s only 7 weeks until our wedding so I need to be super careful with my diet. I’m happy at the weight I am, however I can’t gain any weight as my wedding dress has been fitted to the shape I am now. No pressure Alex.
My mum had scales at home when I was younger and I remember they were never very accurate, every day would be different. Another reason why I haven’t bothered getting some for our house. So when I was given the opportunity to review the Ozeri Precision II scales, I thought now is a better time than any. I really need to be watching my weight leading up to the big day.
The Ozeri Precision II scales are so easy to use. They are much quicker that scales I have used in the past. They weigh you almost instantly when you stand on them. The ‘step on’ technology means there is no tapping required, you simply stand on the scale and wait for your weight to appear. They feature a new widescreen LCD with xBright technology that provides immediate and easy to read results in all light conditions. Day or night, there’s no avoiding that weekly weigh in!
After testing them for a few weeks, on different surfaces in different rooms, I have noticed the weight they give you varies depending on the surface you are using. It’s very important that you weight yourself on a hard, even surface, or your weight will be inaccurate. For example, on the carpet in my bedroom I weighted 5 stone. So i’m guessing that wasn’t 100% correct, right? I made sure I tested the scales every morning on the hard surface in my bathroom and I can say honestly they weighed me the same each day.
For a little treat they come with a bonus tape measure for waist, thigh, arm and other measurements, and a body fat calliper to confirm your weight management progress as muscles grow and unwanted fat goes away. Not necessarily something everyone needs but worth having if you are on a strict programme.
Overall I am really impressed with these scales. They have changed my perception on bathroom scales, and I’m not so scared of owning them!
Now lets hope they are nice to me and tell me I weigh the same each day. (Must stop eating take aways.)
